About

I've spent over twenty-five years in the European automotive aftermarket. My career started in telecommunications and strategy consulting, which gave me an early view of how technology reshapes industries from the inside out. I moved into building and scaling businesses — growing a regional tyre distributor into an international operation active across Europe, from €40M to €130M in revenue. Along the way I co-founded a VC-backed automotive marketplace and scaled an insurtech as interim COO.

Working across industries — telecoms, insurance, automotive — and mentoring with Techstars gave me a pattern to compare against. In every other sector, independent operators were getting tools that matched how they actually worked. In the automotive aftermarket, the workshops that form the backbone of the industry were still running on phone calls, informal messaging, and paper calendars. The tools available were either built for enterprise chains or too generic to be useful. The industry was digitising from the top down. Nobody was building for the shop floor.

That's why I started Carsu. A single platform where independent workshops manage appointments, customer communication, and daily operations — built around how workshops already work, not how a software company thinks they should. We're live with enterprise dealer networks and expanding across Southern Europe.

I mentor with Techstars and a few other programmes. Dutch, living between the Netherlands and Italy, working across Europe. I enjoy building in industries where things have been done the same way for too long.
